FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Stellar® 250L improve energy efficiency?

Achieves approximately 19% better performance than Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS), reducing energy consumption without compromising hot water availability.

Is the Stellar® 250L easy to install?

Yes. The unit is up to 42% lighter than comparable water heaters, simplifying handling and installation.

What materials ensure the durability of the Rheem Stellar® 250L?

Stainless steel cylinder and fittings resist corrosion, providing long-lasting performance suitable for Australian household conditions.

How long does an electric hot water system last?

Electric storage hot water systems typically last around 8–10 years, and longer with regular servicing and anode replacement.

How do electric hot water systems work?

An electric hot water system heats water using an electric element inside an insulated storage tank, keeping hot water ready for use — a simple, reliable and affordable option.

Is gas or electric hot water cheaper?

Standard electric is usually the most expensive to run, and gas is often cheaper. A heat pump is the most efficient electric option, using up to 70% less power than a standard electric system.

How much does a new hot water system cost?

The cost of a new hot water system depends on the type and size. Electric storage systems are the most affordable upfront, while heat pump and solar systems cost more but save on running costs and may qualify for rebates. Call SunCity Hot Water on 1300 728 122 for an all-inclusive supplied-and-installed quote on the Rheem Stellar® 250L Stainless Steel Electric Water Heater.

What size hot water system do I need?

As a guide, 1–2 people suit 125–160L, 3–4 people (a family of four) suit 250–315L, and larger households suit 400L. Continuous-flow gas units are sized by hot water flow rate instead. SunCity will help size the right system for your household.
